Jerusalem, Israel - Apr. 5, 2017 - Forbes 2017 Under 30 Summit, led by Randall Lane, Editor, Forbes Magazines has brought together hundreds of young entrepreneurs from the U.S., Europe and Israel, culled from Forbes’ 30 Under 30 lists. The Summit started off in Tel Aviv on Sunday morning, with representatives ringing the opening bell of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Monday and Tuesday, featured panels, interviews, performances, product demos and keynote addresses, with cutting-edge innovators.
On April 5, as part of Service Day, participants came to Jerusalem and dived into three groups. Track I went to Jerusalem Venture Partners Campus (JVP), Israel's largest venture capital firm. At JVP, six interest groups worked on topics such as cyber-technology, health technologies, motor technology and other cutting edge technologies for the betterment of society.
Track 2 participated in an Archaeological Dig at Khirbet El Rai, a newly discovered archaeological site, dating back roughly 3,000 years to the Kingdom of Judah. Attendees were excited to find important artifacts during their time excavating.
Track 3 bus went to meet entrepreneurs and see Rawabi, the planned Arab city over in the West Bank.
Wednesday night a spectacular musical program at the Tower of David which began with the YMCA Jerusalem Youth Choir and Tal Ramon, was hosted by Randall Lane, super model Ashley Graham, and Zach Greenburg. Lynn Schusterman was in attendance and received special mention and applause for her financial support of programming for young entrepreneurs.
The Summit program was to conclude with a sunrise hike up Masada and Dead Sea Spa Day. For many of the participants it was their first time in Israel. BJL spoke with Tamara and Elizabeth, two young women from Austria. Arya, a partner in a Los Angeles start-up, is Muslim and told, BJL had no trouble with security at Ben Gurion Airport. After the Summit concludes, he plans to visit his mother in Tehran.
Once again Forbes Under 30 has brought together a fascinating group of young people in Israel for an experience of a lifetime.
