Jerusalem, Israel - Oct. 19, 2015 - With the tense situation in Israel, Israeli security personnel are on high alert and working over time.

President Reuven Rivlin and his wife Nechama opened up Beit Hanasi on Monday afternoon to host young children from families of police officers and other security units.

Smiles, entertainment and balloons filled the large presidential reception hall. First Lady Rivlin read two story books to the young visitors who were sitting on mats on the floor.

Popular children's food items were piled on buffet tables. Gape drink was served instead of regular grapefruit juice from dispensers.

The gardens were filled with an inflated moon bounce and other children's games. Cotton candy and popcorn machines were running throughout the afternoon to be enjoyed by all.

President Rivlin told the children that this was not his house, but that of the people of Israel, and the Rivlins hosted as proud, spoiling grandparents.
