Over 1,500 police, IDF and security forces guarding Jerusalem are getting a special delivery barbecue-thank you from United Hatzalah and Israel's Volunteer Police Highway Rescue Unit (Yachpatz).
Meir Rotberg fom Yachpatz had the idea to make a huge bbq for the men and women protecting Jerusalem but needed help to deliver the food-of-gratitude to all the guard posts scattered across the Holy City. That's when he decided to call United Hatzalah's Moshe Teitlbaum.
In less than 24 hours a staging area was set up on Jerusalem's famous Ammunition Hill where hot sandwiches, cold drinks and snacks, prepared by tens of volunteers from the two organizations are being delivered by United Hatzalah ambucycles to make sure they are hot and fresh.
"The volunteers here are giving a hug to all the police and security that are protecting Jerusalem, especially now after a very difficult two weeks," said Teitelbaum.
United Hatzalah's mobile dispatch center is coordinating the volunteers.
