The heads of the chareidi factions in Knesset; Aryeh Deri, Yaakov Litzman, and Moshe Gafne are seeking a combined session of the Moetzas Gedolei Torah of Agudas Yisrael, Degel Hatorah and Shas to address Chilul Shabbos in Israel.

The four met with the Committee of Four; which is working to limit Chilul Shabbos, MKs Yoav Bentzur, Uri Maklev, Michael Michaeli and Yisrael Eichler to discuss the chilul Shabbos. They refer to the changes in the religious status quo, which is a violation of coalition agreements, primarily the continuation of work on Israel Railways on Shabbos despite continued warnings from chareidi parties it would lead to a coalition crisis.

Chareidi faction leaders have met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz and Welfare Minister Chaim Katz, but to date, they have not succeeded in halting the Chilul Shabbos.
