Jerusalem - The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced on Thursday, in a joint operation, it had uncovered a Hamas terror cell last month made up of Jerusalem and Hebron residents who were planning a kidnapping and murder in the style of the abduction and murder of the three Israeli youth in the West Bank in 2014 before Operation Protective Edge.

The cell was planning to carry out the kidnapping for the purpose of having a bargaining chip, possibly for the release of Palestinians being held in Israeli jails.

The arresting of the cell was a joint operation of the Shin Bet, the IDF and the Police. The names of the accused terrorists Maher Kawasme, Amer Rajbi, and Ziad Abu Haduan, were released along with their photos.

The Shin Bet released a photo that it claimed to be the intended hiding place of the group’s kidnapping target.
