Baltimore, MD - Dec. 23, 2015 - The Koidenover Rebbe, shlita, visited Baltimore last week spending an uplifting Shabbos, meeting with those seeking his wise counsel, giving brachos, as well as seeking support for his holy work in Eretz Yisrael. Those who had the opportunity to hear the Rebbe speak in a variety of shuls in town were inspired by the uplifting and relevant message he conveyed.
One of the highlights of the visit was the post-Chanukah Melava Malka at Machzikei Torah. Rabbonim in town graced the dais in a beautiful display of achdus. The evening concluded with the burning off the Chanukah wicks as well as distribution of Chanukah gelt by the Rebbe.

The Rebbe has successfully revived a nearly 200-year-old Russian chassidus, which descends from the Rebbes of Lechovitch and Karlin/Stolin. Many Baltimoreans are descended from Koidenover Chassidim and every year during the Rebbe’s visit, more families come out of the woodwork.
The Rebbe’s institutions in Israel consist of two batei midrash, a yeshiva and 2 kollelim, in addition to a multitude of chesed projects. The Rebbe's unique beis midrash on Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Square, serves as a kiruv center; it includes a kollel and provides weekly Shabbos meals. The yeshiva in Bnei Brak has grown in 9 years from 9 students to 70 and has gained a reputation as one of the finest yeshivos in Bnei Brak.
On behalf of the entire Baltimore community, American Friends of Koidenov, Inc., would like to thank the Rebbe, a member of its board and Nasi of Mosdos Koidenov B'Eretz haKodesh, for gracing our community. We anxiously look forward to his next visit.
