Baltimore, MD - Jun 3, 2023 - Baltimore Shomrim is increasing surveillance in parts of northwest Baltimore and Pikesville due to a rise in car break-ins, reports WBALTV. Over the past two weeks, there have been an estimated 15-20 reported vehicle break-ins. Shomrim, composed entirely of volunteers, has installed cameras in around 30 high-traffic locations over the past year to assist the police in deterring crime. They also recommend that people take preventative measures, such as locking their cars, keeping belongings out of sight, and ensuring that their houses and parking areas are well lit. Shomrim reminded residents that if they witness any suspicious activity, they should report it immediately by dialing 911 or contacting Shomrim directly at 410-358-9999.
