The IDF reportedly hit targets in southern Gaza, according to Palestinian media outlets.

Palestinian media reported at least two casualties in strikes in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis on Sunday night.


According to local reports a firefight broke out between Palestinian militants and IDF troops in Khan Younis.

The strikes attributed to the Israel Air Force consisted of at least 10 missiles and targeted senior militant in Hamas’ military wing, the Izzedine al-Qassem Brigade, killing the Khan Younis commander Sheikh Nur Barakeh, and Muhammad al-Qara.

Residents in the Israeli communities surrounding the southern Gaza Strip were warned to stay close to shelter for further notice following the security incident.

Late last week, Israel approved the transfer of $15 million to Hamas in the hopes of a deal to quell violence.  Read more at JPost
