Journalist and Temple Mount activist Arnon Segal was detained and brought to an Old City police station as he was wrapping up a routine visit to Judaism's holiest site.

For Segal, who regularly visits the site, this is the first time being arrested for his activism.

Earlier, Segal filmed two Jews who prostrated and loudly recited the "Shema" prayer at the sight and were removed by police.

Tom Nisani, Director of Biyadenu, stated: "Israel Police's Jerusalem District Chief and the Officers of the David Precinct have lost their restraint, this morning they arrested two Jews who exercised their freedom of worship, and after that, they detained Arnon Segal, a known journalist, and guide who visits the Temple Mount and was never arrested or detained.
