Rav Chaim Kanievsky, shlita,  traveled from his home on Rechov Rashbam Bnei Brak to Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim tonight, Motzoei Shabbos, to attend a Siyum Hashas learned by the talmidim of the yeshiva in memory of the late rosh yeshiva, Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel zt”l. It is now ten years since his passing.

This was the first time ever, in his entire lifetime, that Rav Chaim visited the famed yeshiva in the Bais Yisroel neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

The Siyum Hashas was made on the completion of Shas 51 times by talmidim of the yeshiva.

The event featured the participation of Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, noted tomech Torah of Los Angeles and prime supporter of Mir Yerushalayim. Reb Shlomo Yehuda recited the Hadran at the siyum.

Buses from around Yerushalayim brought people to the event, with strict security measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety and security considering the large crowd.

When Rav Chaim entered the packed bais medrash, the crowd broke out in the singing of Yomim Al Yemei Melech Tosif.

Divrei brocha were delivered by the rosh yeshiva, Rav Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, by Rav Yitzchok Ezrachi, and others.

The guest speaker was Rav Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Ateres Yisroel in Yerushalayim.
