Deputy Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman is a strong proponent of vaccinations for children, and as such, he has instructed ministry officials to look into the possibility of making vaccinations mandatory. This is in light of an increase in the number of parents preferring not to have their children vaccinated, and an increase in the spread of illness as a result.

Ministry officials are probing the legalities of a policy that would condition a child’s acceptance in kindergartens on showing the child’s vaccination record.
