Positive developments unexpectedly occurred in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian organization Hamas, sources revealed on Friday, towards reaching a prisoner exchange agreement.

Sources told Rai al-Youm, an Arab world digital news website, that Egypt has “accomplished many points related to the prisoner swap deal, which may be announced within a few weeks,” The Jerusalem Post (The Post) reported.

The sources disclosed that there are “official and clear guarantees from Hamas and Israel that comply with the broad outlines of the deal.”
