Now that there will be more vaccines available in Maryland, there are hopes from many that the process to get a shot will get better.


It's no secret that making an appointment to get a vaccine has been anything but easy for a majority of people. For example, over the past couple of days, people have been having issues with the Walgreens website.

“It’s a mess. It’s horrible, it’s horrible,” said Tamara Gunter, who has had issues getting an appointment.

Gunter said she and her husband are signed up on five different COVID-19 vaccine websites, but they have been unable to get an appointment.

“We’re on the list for our health care provider Kaiser Permanente. Husband’s on the priority list for almost two months, still no call,” Gunter said.

Her latest ordeal was with the Walgreens website. Gunter said she was excited seeing there were appointments available. But when she went to make an appointment, the site wouldn't confirm it.

“I contacted Walgreens and Walgreens said, ‘No, we don’t have any appointments available.’ But you see the screenshots I showed you, it says something totally different,” Gunter said.

“Many, many people have experienced these very same issues and I’ve been expressing frustrations on our Facebook page, and we just hope that that the system can be fixed in the near future,” Maryland Vaccine Hunters Facebook group co-creator Elliot Hazzard said.

The Maryland Vaccine Hunters Facebook group has now grown to more than 50,000 members. Hazzard said the Walgreen's issue has become a hot topic on the site. Read more at WBALTV
