New study shows Israelis with cardiac events arrived late at hospital during first virus wave

“A partial lockdown or absolute lockdown are still possibilities,” Israel’s Health Ministry Director-General Prof. Hezi Levi said Tuesday morning in an interview with Israel’s Army Radio.

“We need to try and see if lockdowns or restrictions can be imposed on locations that show an increasing morbidity rate -- we will discuss all options with the prime minister tomorrow,” Prof. Levi said.

The Israeli government has been weighing to reintroduce partial lockdowns on “red” cities, where infection rates are on the rise, aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus in the county.

According to a Maariv report, one option that came up in the Coronavirus Cabinet was to impose a nationwide lockdown from mid-August to September 1 in order to bring down infection rates before the opening of the school year. Read more at i24
