Anti-aircraft unit positions, surveillance posts and command and control infrastructure hit in airstrikes

Israeli jets, attack helicopters and aircraft launched strikes against Syrian army targets in the country's south, the IDF announced late on Monday.

The strikes, launched a short while ago, came in retaliation for an earlier attack thwarted on Israel's north border, which saw four terrorists killed as they approached the security barrier with firearms and explosives.

Monday's strikes were aimed at anti-aircraft unit positions, surveillance posts and command and control infrastructure on the Syrian side of the border, the IDF maintained.

It added that the Israeli military deems Syria responsible for everything happening on its territory -- a message it earlier relayed to the commander of the UN observer force. Read more at i24
