The man accused of robbing multiple SunTrust Bank branches in Rockville was found dead in a Hagerstown hotel room, according to police.

ROCKVILLE, MD — The man who sent Montgomery County Police on a months-long hunt after robbing multiple SunTrust Bank locations in Rockville was found dead in a Hagerstown hotel room, authorities said.

Authorities believe that 28-year-old Shivi Brian Mohanani-Neil, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, is behind four SunTrust Bank robberies inside Safeway supermarkets, as well as additional robberies in Northern Virginia.

In Rockville, three of the robberies took place at 14939 Shady Grove Road on Jan. 27, Feb. 3, and March 3. The fourth one happened at 15411 New Hampshire Ave. on April 4.

Officer Rick Goodale, a Montgomery County Police spokesman, said it isn't uncommon for robbery suspects to strike the same location multiple times.

"In some cases, these suspects may feel comfortable enough going back to the same location because they are familiar enough with the employees and the surroundings," Goodale told Patch.

During all four Rockville robberies, Mohanani-Neil displayed a note demanding money and was able to flee with cash, police said. He was captured on surveillance camera each time, but his identity was unknown to police.

Eventually, law enforcement officials were able to put a name to the face.

"Detectives were able to identify Mohnani-Neil as the suspect over the course of their investigation and obtained a warrant for his arrest charging him with four counts of robbery," Montgomery County Police said in a statement.

While searching for Mohnani-Neil, authorities found him dead in a Hagerstown hotel room. Police say they do not suspect any foul play in his death.

Upon further investigation, detectives learned that Mohnani-Neil was arrested for a slew of other crimes in Pennsylvania. According to police, Mohnani-Neil was arrested for the following offenses: robbery, CDS (controlled drug substances) violations, theft, receiving stolen property, assault, terroristic threats, forgery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and identity theft.
