Jerusalem, Israel - Mar. 6, 2018 - Israeli President Reuven Rivlin hosted at Beit Hanasi, 22 outstanding female students, in anticipation of International Women's Day, to be celebrated on March 8, 2018. During the meeting, each of the young women presented ideas for work for a government ministry portfolio in their area of interest.
One by one the students, stood said their name and mentioned their school, and government agency they were heading. Etti Sahalo,אתי סהלו, a twelfth grade student at AMIT Mekif Yud in Ashdod was one student selected to have her photo taken with the President after the group photo.
Etti was chosen as “Minister of Health.” Her credentials are long and impressive. She has volunteered with MDA since 10th grade and is certified for events and intensive care ambulance. She runs a training program for 9th graders, provides weekly MDA training sessions, and also rides shifts in an ambulance. Plus, she volunteers once a week in a center for special-needs children.
Etti is studying architecture-physics and plans to study medicine, while continuing to volunteer for MDA. She is going through the assignment process to do sherut leumi, as medical issues preclude IDF, and serving as an army paramedic.
The impressive young women came from all over Israel, and included Arab students from the Gallil.
