Israel’s new minimum wage goes into effect on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, bringing the minimum monthly wage to 5,300 shekels.
This means the hourly minimum wage is increasing from 26.90 shekels an hour to 28.5 shekels an hour. The daily minimum wage increases from 231 to 245 shekels.
According to treasury officials, the increase will cost the nation between 400-500 million shekels annually.
