Jerusalem, Israel - Mar. 9, 2017 - Dozens of Israeli Knesset committees meet in the Knesset on a regular basis. MK Rachel Azaria has been holding meetings dealing with family life. Various groups present suggestions for new and improved legislation.

At the past session, former Maryland resident Naava Posy Shafner, CEO of Imakadima a working mothers group, attended to speak on the subject of parental leave. At present only Israeli mothers are guaranteed job security after taking leave on birth of a child. For fathers, the law is implicit, but not explicit. A young father might take time off, but could not have a job when he came back from paternity leave.

Shafner took a minute to explain to BJL, the purpose of her group and its goal.
