Jerusalem, Israel - Jan. 24, 2017 - Motzei Shabbos, January 21, over 2,000 young women spending the year in Israel, filled the Jerusalem Ramada Hotel ballroom. The event, Songs of Hope, an annual musical competition sponsored by Yeshiva University and the student organization Kedma, featured hundreds of talented and creative young women. For the past 18 years, Kedma and Yeshiva University have offered a platform for female students and future community leaders to showcase their talents.

Themes of Jerusalem, returning home, Zion and "We are a miracle" ran throughout the presentations, which were announced by students Ruchie and Brachi, and Kedma's Rena Rapps. Judges included one representative from each seminary, plus Annie Orenstein, founder of Spotlight on Women, and Los Angeles teacher Pessy Stulberger.  Midreshet Harova was awarded first place in the competition.
