Baltimore, MD - Dec. 29, 2016 - "The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream-stuff and passed away. The Greek and Roman followed, made a vast noise and they are gone. Other peoples have sprung up, and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out and they sit in twilight now or have vanished. The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind. All things are mortal, but the Jew. All other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality?"

This well-known and largely quoted excerpt from the essay by Mark Twain, “Concerning the Jews”, discusses the incredulity of the fact that the most persecuted nation is the only one to withstand the test of time.

Rav Yaakov Emden, in the introduction to his siddur, writes that our survival throughout all the persecutions and exiles is the greatest of all miracles. "Who is so blind as to not see the divine providence… He who examines our unique situation and standing in the world. We the exiled nation, a dispersed sheep. After all the troubles and shifts for two thousand years. No nation in the world is as pursued as us. How great have been our troubles! …Can the hand of chance do all this? I swear by my soul, for when contemplating these things, they are greater in my eyes than all the great open miracles G-d has performed for our forefathers in Egypt, the Sinai Desert, and in the land of Israel.”

Chanukah is the time when we celebrate our nations survival thorough the trials and tribulations of history. We stood up against the Greeks and Hashem delivered the many in the hands of the few and the impure in the hands of the pure.

This reality of our history has repeated itself time and time again during the last 2000 years and during the last century as well. Two world wars, a holocaust, communism, secularism and so much more, but we have prevailed.  How? Simple, Torah.

For the last 100 Years TA has been building a strong foundation of Torah across the world. TA, amongst the great Yeshivos of the last century are the shining example of the greatest miracle of all – our eternal existence.

This year, as TA celebrates its 100th year anniversary, the talmidim of the Yeshiva want to pay tribute to their part in the miracle of our survival by releasing an original music video ‘I Am A Miracle.’ In this song they express their joy and pride being a part of this greatest of miracles.

There is no more appropriate way to honor the memory of their beloved friend and TA talmid, Moshe Simcha Moskowitz, Z'L, who always brought joy to others and was a source of constant pride to us all.  This production is dedicated to his memory.

Lyrics:
Fleeing two world wars
We came from distant shores
Searching for a new beginning
Torah pioneers
These past one hundred years
Helping us to hold on tight

Trailblazers of teaching
Thousands students reaching
Spiritual battles winning
Teaching me the tools
Imparting chinuch rules
TA shines it's guiding light

I am a miracle
A living miracle
Through the test of time I am a
miracle
And through the years in each
generation
Tragedy and temptation
Torah will survive
Its strength keeps me Alive

I am a miracle
A TA miracle
Testament of truth - I am a miracle
I’m a century old foundation
A modern day revelation
Bridging old and new
A steadfast Torah Jew
I am a miracle
Each and every day
When entering TA
I Become a part of history
Take a look inside
I join with knowing pride
I continue in their way

As I learn as grow
Inside one truth I know:
I am Part of living history
I feel what it means
To join this holy scene
The miracle that is TA!

CHORUS

8 days the oil burned
Centuries of Torah learned
Of every miracle we have known
The greatest one’s our own
