Friedman, who is Orthodox, lit the Chabad of the Five Towns menorah in Cedarhurst Park, Long Island, marking the 15th year he has lit the public menorah as part of Chabad-Lubavitch’s worldwide Hanukkah celebration.

The Chabad movement has more than 15,000 large public menorahs in more than 90 countries around the world, including in front of landmarks such as the White House, the Eiffel Tower and the Kremlin.
