Jerusalem, Israel - July 14, 2016 - The delegation of Israeli Olympic and Para-Olympic athletes participating in the upcoming Olympics in Rio, were wished farewell and good luck by President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday at Beit Hanasi.
The largest Israeli delegations in history, includes 48 Olympic athletes and many more para-Olympic athletes. The afternoon program began with moderator, Gili Lustig calling for a moment of silence in memory of the eleven athletes murdered in Munich, mentioning each by name.
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin spok, as did Israel Minister of Sports Miri Regev. Representatives of the athletes and para-athletes and their organizations gave short speeches and presented the President with gifts. Also present for the event were the Ambassador from Brazil and his Israeli counterpart.
After singing Hatikvah, all those off to Brazil for the Olympics gathered in the front and back gardens for photos with dignitaries.
