Jerusalem - A Breslover Chosid is being hailed as a hero today, after turning the tables on the Arab terrorist who stabbed him in Petach Tikva, killing his attacker with his own knife.

Yonatan Azrian spoke to reporters today from his bed at Petach Tikva’s Beilinson Hospital where he was recuperating from the injuries he sustained in the attack.

Azrian had traveled from his home town of Yavniel to Petach Tikva to distribute Bresolver leaflets in the local marketplace, as reported by B’Chadrei Chareidim.

“I went into a store and was sharing divrei Torah with the store owner when I felt someone jump on me,” said Azrian.

Azrian was stabbed several times in the neck by his attacker during the incident which took place at approximately 4:30 PM.

According to The Times of Israel, Azrian, who is approximately 40 years old, fled the store on Rechov Baron Hirsch, while the storekeeper grabbed the terrorist and fought with him.  Azrian returned to the store, removed the knife from his neck, and stabbed the terrorist to prevent him from continuing on his bloody terror spree.

“I didn’t want others to die,” explain Azrian, who later collapsed due to his injuries.

The terrorist, is reported to be Abed al-Rahman Radad a 17-year-old resident of the northern West Bank town of Zawiya, died from his injuries.

Azrian said that he was convinced he was going to die after being stabbed.  Doctors told him that he is lucky to be alive.

“Hakadosh Baruch Hu made a miracle for me,” said Azrian.  “I could have been among the dead but Hashem sent me a sign that those who go out to perform a mitzvah are saved from harm.”

Interior minister Aryeh Deri was among those who came to visit Azrian.  Deri, who spoke on the phone with Azrian’s mother, said that despite today’s triple stabbings, Israelis must continue on with their lives.

“This has been a very difficult day,” Deri told Kikar HaShabbat.
