21-year-old father murdered by Arab terror teens during Shabbat shopping identified as an IDF soldier.
The 21-year-old shopper who was murdered on Thursday in an Arab terror attack at the Rami Levy supermarket in Sha'ar Binyamin was identified by the IDF as Sergeant Tuvia Yanai Weissman.
Weissman was a combat soldier in the Nahal Brigade and lived in Ma'ale Mikhmas in the Binyamin region of Samaria, according to an IDF Spokesperson Unit statement on Thursday night.
He studied at a high school in Jerusalem and at a pre-military academy in Kfar Eldad in Judea. He enlisted in the Nahal Brigade and got married during his military service. Weissman leaves behind his wife Yael, a four-month-old daughter, his parents and three brothers.
The IDF statement noted that his family had been informed of the murder, and added that "the IDF joins in the sorrow of the family and will continue to accompany the family."
Weissman's funeral will take place on Friday at 8 a.m. at the Har Hertzl military cemetery in Jerusalem.
Video from Weissman's wedding can be viewed below.
Weissman was doing his Shabbat shopping when he was murdered.
In the attack, a 36-year-old shopper was likewise moderately wounded, and is currently being treated at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem.
An initial investigation has revealed the two 14-year-old Arab terrorists from the nearby village of Bitunia got past the store's security with knives brought from home.
They were able to walk around the store freely for a full 20 minutes before going on a rampage, murdering Weissman and wounding the other victim. They were shot by two armed civilians in the store and arrested.
Rami Levy was summoned by police to come in for questioning on Sunday regarding the incident.
