The UN General Assembly approved a resolution advanced by France and Saudi Arabia calling for support for a two-state solution, recognizing a Palestinian state on Friday.

The resolution was approved by the majority of 142 countries in favor,  with 10 voting against it and 12 abstaining from the "New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution."

Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon responded to the resolution, stating, "This one-sided declaration will not be remembered as a step toward peace, only as another hollow gesture that weakens this Assembly’s credibility…This is not diplomacy. It is theatre.

"The only beneficiary is Hamas…When terrorists are the ones cheering, you are not advancing peace; you are advancing terror.”... Read More: JPost
