Balimore, MD - July 7, 2025 - Tropical Depression Chantal is trekking northward, bringing the potential for heavy rain and flash flooding to Maryland, weather forecasters said.

The National Hurricane Center forecasts the storm will drench some areas on Monday while largely sparing others. Towns closest to Chesepeake Bay will bear the brunt of the storm.

The southern portion of the ba could get up to 2 inches of rain, while isolated areas on the Eastern Shore could tally 4 inches of rain by 8 a.m. Tuesday.
