Brooklyn, NY - March 29, 2025 - (CBN) A frum mother and her two daughters were killed Saturday in Brooklyn when a driver with a suspended license slammed into an Uber and careened into the family on a leisurely walk home from synagogue.

A third child — the woman’s 4- year-old son — was also struck and was left clinging to life in critical condition, authorities said.

A total of nine people were injured in the tragedy.

The horror unfolded just after 1 p.m. on Ocean Parkway close to Quentin Road in heavily Orthodox Jewish Gravesend when an Uber driver in a Toyota Camry and an Audi collided, authorities said.

“The bang I heard, it was like an earthquake,” a witness told The Post.  “It went on for a good 30 seconds. It felt like the world stopped for that second.”

The Audi, driven by Miriam Yarimi, who had a suspended license at the time, continued forward and careened into a crosswalk—tragically striking and killing the 35-year-old mom and her girls, ages 8 and 6, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a press conference at the scene.
This was a horrific tragedy caused by someone who shouldn’t have been on the road,” Tisch said at a news conference at the scene.

Yarimi, 32, has not been charged. She was taken to New York University-Langone Hospital Brooklyn, while the 62-year-old Camry operator was taken to Coney Island hospital in stable condition. Both were expected to get tested for drunken driving.

The husband of the nifteres was home with the couple’s infant when the crash happened, a resident said.

“My neighbor had to go to the husband and tell him that his wife and two children passed away,” the resident said  “He lost two out of four children, yes, in one day. Plus, his wife.”
