Jerusalem, Israel - March 20, 2025 - The Jerusalem Municipality presented ten Jerusalem Mayor Volunteer Awards at the Jerusalem Theater on the evening of March 18, 2025.
The Michael Levin Base was presented with the award for its dedication to supporting lone soldiers and b'not sherut. The organization's vital role is to provide essential resources, community, and care to those who serve without immediate family and support. Founded in February 2020, Co-Directors Lizzie Noach and Bonnie Rosenbaum, both olim and dedicated leaders, accepted the awards on behave of the organization.
“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition,” said Lizzie Noach, Co-Director of The Michael Levin Base. “This award is a testament to the commitment of our team, volunteers, and supporters who work tirelessly to ensure that every lone soldier and bat sherut feels supported and valued, we couldn’t do it without them!”
Among the other award recipients were Melabev, supporting seniors and those with dementia, and Tenufa Bakehila providing low-income individuals with housing repairs to have a better quality of life.
Jerusalem has a large volunteer network involving dozens of organizations and thousands of volunteers. These new prizes at the Jerusalem Theater honored ten this year in style.
