Baltimore, MD - Mar. 19, 2026 - A 20-year-old Maryland man was convicted Wednesday for an armed carjacking that left a woman and her mother severely injured in Pikesville, according to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney.
Darius H. Wolfe, from Brooklyn, Maryland, was charged with the armed carjacking, along with two counts of First Degree Assault and the Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime of Violence, officials reported.
On August 21, 2024, a 66-year-old woman was retrieving groceries from her car on Brattle Road when three masked men approached her with a handgun.
The masked men proceeded to go into her car as the woman tried to grab her belongings and prevent the carjacking, resulting in the woman being assaulted.

Baltimore, MD - Mar. 19, 2026 - Police are investigating after a shooting has left a man dead in Pikesville on Thursday morning.
According to Baltimore County Police, homicide detectives were on scene investigating a shooting in the 8300 block of Scotts Level Road in Pikesville around 9 a.m. on March 19.
As a result of the shooting, a man has been pronounced dead.
Authorities said they will provide more information when they have it.
Annapolis, MD - Mar. 19, 2026 - A Maryland congressman is trying to force a vote on paying Transportation Security Administration workers while the partial government shutdown continues.
Congressman John Olszewski took to social media and said he is in favor of the move.
“We have to make sure these services are being delivered for the American people,” he wrote. “I urge all of my colleagues to do the same. Let’s sign the discharge petitions, get these clean funding bills out there and pay our hard working employees.”

Baltimore County, MD - Mar. 18, 2026 - Baltimore County recorded its lowest levels of violent crime in five years in 2025, alongside record-breaking case clearance rates, the Baltimore County Police Department (BCoPD) announced Wednesday.
BCoPD reported a 93% clearance rate for homicides and a 95% clearance rate for non-fatal shootings in 2025—both the highest levels in the past five years and well above national averages.
At the same time, the total number of homicides dropped significantly.
The county recorded 28 homicides in 2025, down from 55 in 2021—a 49% decrease and the lowest total in the five-year period.
Non-fatal shootings also declined sharply, falling from 75 incidents in 2021 to 41 in 2025, a reduction of more than 45%.
