Baltimore, MD - March 3, 2025 - (BJL) For the past 14 years, Dr. Leslie Klein has played a transformative role in shaping the academic excellence of the Women’s Institute of Torah Seminary & College (WITS). Under her leadership, WITS has grown in both professionalism and opportunity, expanding its degree programs, strengthening academic partnerships, and ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education. Her dedication and vision have left a lasting impact, empowering hundreds of students to pursue their academic and professional aspirations.
As WITS looks to the future, it shares bittersweet news: Dr. Klein will step down as Academic Dean in June 2025. The school is deeply grateful for her many years of service and is pleased that she will continue in an advisory role through the end of 2025. Dr. Klein will be assuming the position of Chief Academic Officer at Gratz College, where she will also continue to develop graduate program partnerships for WITS students, furthering her legacy of educational excellence.
With great enthusiasm for the future, WITS is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Rivka Maron as the incoming Academic Dean. A long-time faculty member at WITS, Mrs. Maron is a distinguished scholar and educator who brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to women’s education. She has developed and taught Jewish history courses at WITS, guiding students through the fundamentals of historical research and critical analysis. In her new role, Mrs. Maron will oversee academic programming, support faculty development, and work closely with students to ensure a robust and enriching academic environment.
An accomplished academic, Mrs. Maron is set to complete her PhD in history at the University of Maryland, College Park this spring. Her contributions to Chinuch Habanos are equally remarkable. Mrs. Maron has been a long-standing faculty member at Bais Yaakov of Baltimore High School, where she crafted and delivered curricula in Jewish History, Western Civilization, and Hebrew Language. She has also developed specialized courses in Holocaust Studies and American Jewish History curricula at Bnos Yisroel High School.
Mrs. Maron’s passion for education extends internationally. She has served as an assistant professor of history and Jewish studies at Michlalah Jerusalem College. Her reputation as a dedicated and innovative educator makes her an exceptional choice to lead WITS’ academic programming into the future.
"We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Rivka Maron as Academic Dean," said Rebbetzin Ettie Rosenbaum, Menaheles of WITS. "Her passion for education, combined with her extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development, will be instrumental in advancing our academic programs and supporting our students and faculty."
As WITS moves forward, the institution does so with immense gratitude for Dr. Klein’s years of leadership and great excitement for Mrs. Maron’s vision for the future.
