Baltimore, MD - Aug. 27, 2024:

Dear Members and Congregants,

As we approach the ימים נוראים, we want to express our gratitude to all the families who have recently joined our shul. Your support means a great deal to us as we strive to grow our community. We understand the numerous commitments families have and appreciate your involvement, whether as members, supporters, or participants, which is all essential to achieving our current and future goals.

In recent months, the Board has been diligently strategizing on ways to further enhance our shul and community. One significant initiative we embarked upon was commencing a membership vote to consider the appointment of a Rav and Rebbetzin. While we acknowledge that we are in an earlier stage compared to many shuls, we are fortunate to have a very talented, respected, and knowledgeable Rav and Rebbetzin—Rabbi Yoni and Tova Sonnenblick—who are currently part of the shul and are excited about the prospect of stepping into the role. Moreover, our established relationships with them as neighbors and friends provide us with a solid foundation, ensuring that we approach the Rabbi-Congregant relationship with familiarity and mutual understanding.

Therefore, we are excited to announce that Rabbi Yoni and Tova Sonnenblick have been voted in (in a resounding fashion) as Rabbi and Rebbetzin to begin this coming September. We are excited to begin this new chapter in our shul's story. G-d willing, our inaugural Shabbos will be September 6-7 in our newly constructed space.

Looking forward to this new beginning with all of you!

All the best,
The Ohel Torah Board
