Baltimore, MD - Jan. 17, 2024 - Baltimore County Public Schools is investigating the principal at Pikesville High School for alleged derogatory remarks about students and staff, according to WMAR2News. An audio recording, believed to be of principal Eric Eiswert, contains complaints about teacher "inadequacies," low test scores among Black students, and negative comments about Jewish families in the community. The school system is conducting an investigation, but no comments have been made about Eiswert's current status due to private personnel matters. Superintendent Myriam Rogers called the recording "deeply disturbing" and emphasized the school's intolerance for disparaging remarks within the community. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski also expressed strong condemnation of hate, discrimination, and prejudice in schools and pledged support for the investigation. Baltimore County Council chairman Izzy Patoka is also looking into the situation.
