Baltimore, MD - Dec. 21, 2023 - Toyota is recalling nearly 1 million vehicles in the United States due to a potential defect that may cause the passenger airbag not to deploy in a crash, according to  FOX45. The recall affects various models from the 2020 and 2021 model years, including Toyota Camry, Rav4, Sienna, and Lexus RX350 and ES350. The issue involves the Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensors in the front passenger seat, which may have been improperly manufactured, leading to a short circuit. If the sensor malfunctions, it could result in the airbag failing to deploy. Toyota will notify affected owners, and the sensor will be replaced at no cost. There have been no reports of injuries related to this issue.
