Baltimore, MD - Dec. 5, 2023 -  The Baltimore City Council failed to adopt a resolution Monday night condemning Hamas, and Councilman Isaac “Yitzy” Schleifer called the situation deeply disappointing, according to WBAL.
Schleifer spoke with C4 and Bryan Nehman on Tuesday about the resolution failure.“I’ve been on the council now for eight years, and I can’t recall a resolution ever failing,” Schleifer said.
All but four council members voted in favor of the resolution officially condemning the terrorist organization. Those who didn’t vote in favor were Kristerfer Burnett, Ryan Dorsey, Phylicia Porter, and Odette Ramos.
Schleifer said the resolution was identical to a previously passed resolution in the city that condemned a terrorist attack in New Zealand against Muslims.
Schleifer said these four of his colleagues lacked 'moral clarity' for not condemning Hamas.
