Baltimore, MD - Nov. 7, 2023 - The Baltimore area Jewish War Veterans (JWV) from Post 167 and Post 888 gathered today at The Edward A. Myerberg Center, a program of CHAI: Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc., for their annual Veterans Day celebration.
The event, held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, drew what seemed to be an impressive crowd of over 100 veterans and dedicated supporters. The Myerberg Center's hall resonated with patriotism as attendees came together to celebrate those who have served our country in the Armed Forces.
Rabbi Chesky Tenenbaum of the Jewish Uniformed Service Association of Maryland and the chaplain for the Department of Maryland JWV gave the invocation. The guest speaker was Barry Steelman, Commander Post 888, and Post 167 member Marshall Sapperstein received an award for his many years of volunteer service at the Myerberg.
"Voices of Vets" took the stage, playing military-themed music - the song for each branch of service was played. The attendees stood up when the music for their branch of service was played. Everyone could be seen enjoying the music.
JWV was present in full force, tabling for the event, and actively seeking new members to join their ranks.
