IDF fighter jets, guided by accurate intelligence information from military intelligence and the Shin Bet, today killed the deputy head of Hamas's intelligence department, Shadi Barud.
As part of his previous position as head of the attack department at the Hamas operations headquarters, Barud planned together with Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the attack plans that were carried out in the murderous raid on southern Israel on October 7. In the past, Barud also served as a battalion commander in the Khan Yunis sector and was involved in planning several terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens.
Afterwards, he held several positions in Hamas's military intelligence and was responsible for the organization's information security. He is also responsible for intelligence relations for the benefit of the organization.
