Israel’s government will order Jerusalem police to block Jewish worshipers from ascending the Har Habayis during the last 10 days of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Hebrew media said Sunday.
According to Israel's Channel 12, the decision was made to ease tensions that flared on the holy site over the past week. The report was met with criticism from some members of the coalition, including Israel’s Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu from the right-wing Jewish Power party.
