Ana Miranda, a member of the European Parliament, was turned away from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport on Tuesday and sent back to Spain after attempting to enter Israel on a diplomatic mission to the Palestinian Authority, reports Arutz-7. Israeli officials cited Miranda's participation in a 2015 flotilla that tried to break Israel's Gaza Strip blockade as the reason for the rejection. Despite receiving permission to visit, the foreign ministry refused entry to another proposed member of the delegation, Manu Pineda, over his alleged support of Hamas. The incident prompted criticism from the European Union.
