It is with shock and sadness that Matzav.com reports the sudden petirah of Rav Shmuel Yehuda Levin zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Telshe in Chicago, after suffering a heart attack. He was 63 years old.
Rav Levin was a son of Rav Avrohom Chaim Levin zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Telshe in Chicago, and a son-in-law of Rav Shmuel Faivelson zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash L’Torah of Monsey.
It was less than four years ago that Rav Avrohom Chaim Levin was niftar, and Rav Shmuel Yehuda, who had been a maggid shiur in Telshe, assumed the position of rosh yeshiva.
Rav Shmuel Yehuda was beloved by the talmidim, who connected to him in a unique way, not just drinking from his wellsprings of yedios haTorah, but benefiting from watching him and learning from his pure Torah hashkafah. His reinkeit, his aidelkeit, and his boundless devotion to the yeshiva and its talmidim were sources of inspiration to all who knew him.... Read More: MATZAV
