However, Health Ministry statement praises FDA decision to approve booster for elderly, immunocompromised

Unnamed Israeli health officials told local media they were concerned that Friday's vote by a panel of America's top health experts against fully approving booster shots of Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine to everyone aged 16 and over.

The US Food and Drug Administration panel did, however, vote in favor of authorizing booster doses of the vaccine for everyone aged 65 and up, as well as people at high risk of developing severe Covid. 

While an official statement by Israel's Health Ministry highlighted the latter decision as validating Israel's universal rollout of the third dose, a top official speaking to the Ynet news website on condition of anonymity said the FDA vote is likely to undermine popular confidence in the booster campaign in Israel, at least to a certain degree. ...
