Prime minister warns of repercussions from jailbreak, subsequent rioting at correctional facilities

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Wednesday said that "Israel is prepared for every scenario" during security consultations with top officials regarding this week's prison break and riots. 

The meeting was held after the two-day Rosh Hashanah holiday had come to a close and included Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Public Security Minister Omer Bar-Lev, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi and other top officials.

Bennett warned that Monday's escape of six Palestinian terrorists from Gilboa Prison and Wednesday's violence at other correctional facilities in Israel “have the potential to affect several arenas," which is why he called the heads of different security forces for a joint effort.... Read More: i24
