Jerusalem, Israel - Sept. 2, 2018 - Since Rosh Chodesh Elul, Sephardim have been saying selichot, late nights or very early morning. With Rosh Hasahana a week away, Ashkenazim started saying Selichot, late at night after Shabbat. In Jerusalem, Israel, special musical events were featured, along with thousands of regular minyanim. Special Selichot tours of the Old City have been popular with secular Israelis. This year special tours are organized for three nights, for women only, guided with stories by various female guides.
