Baltimore, MD - Aug. 28, 2018 - Effective September 4th, the MTA school bus route #92 – which travels from the community to Bais Yaakov (both campuses), Talmudical Academy, and Torah Institute - will be expanded.
In an effort to accommodate areas in the community that have had limited MTA bus stop access, the route has been expanded to include the Pickwick, Fallstaff, and Pickwick Apartment neighborhoods. The new part of the route will begin from Smith Ave where it will turn onto Sanzo Rd. The bus will proceed down Sanzo/Clarks to the Clarks & Fallstaff intersection; turn left onto Fallstaff; proceed down Fallstaff; turn left onto Willow Glen; travel up Willow Glen to Sanzo; turn right on Sanzo; returning to Smith to continue on its original route.
Along this expanded route, the bus will be stopping at all of the existing #34 bus stops (which will be modified to include #92 on the MTA bus stop signs). One new stop is under construction at the corner of Willow Glen and Wickfield and is due to be completed by September 4th (or later that week).
Aside from the Pickwick, Fallstaff, and Pickwick Apartment neighborhoods with direct access to this modified route, the route also provides convenient access to areas that easily cut through to Fallstaff Rd (i.e. near Rabbi Berger’s shul/the Towers).
Please note that other route modification requests around the community were deemed not feasible due to the traffic/safety concerns presented by the MTA.
In addition, there are several additional bus stops along the existing route that have been submitted to the MTA and have been given preliminary approval. Information will be forthcoming as to when they will be added to the official route.
The MTA bus ticket system will continue in its current format. Efforts to create a “Charm Card” (debit card for bulk bus ride purchases) for the Route # 92 student riders, using the reduced student fare are still ongoing. Updates will be provided when available.
All of the above information, including modified route maps, and information on bus ticket purchases, can be found on Agudath Israel of Maryland’s MTA Bus Service page, by clicking here.
Any questions can be submitted at mta.busing@agudathisrael-md.org.
Best wishes for a safe and successful start to the school year.
