Jerusalem, Israel - Mar. 18, 2017 - The Jerusalem Marathon of 2017 was run on Friday, March 17, through the winding and hilly streets of Jerusalem, Israel. International runners and locals, including Mayor Nir Barkat participated.

Along with a full and half marathon, are numerous other short tracks. A significant feature of the Jerusalem Marathon has become the hundreds of charities which participate as groups, raising millions of dollars. 

The 10 Kilometer race was run in three parts, with thousands of runners in each group. The day ended with a special short family friendly race. 

The weather started cool, but warmed enough to be pleasant, but not hot. Streets opened to traffic earlier than in past years. One wedding proposal was reported. Tens of thousands of people enjoyed their experience and felt a special connection to Jerusalem.The next Jerusalem Marathon is set for March 9, 2018.
