Jerusalem, Israel - Apr. 10, 2019 - Birds were chirping. People were praying. A group of young boys wearing yellow caps were excited. Spring cleanup of notes placed in between the stones of the Kotel was begun on Wednesday morning, ה' ניסן, April 10, 2019.

The sunny, but cool weather, was an ideal opportunity for special workers to remove the pieces of paper before Pesach crowds come to Yerushalayim and fill the Old City.

Rabbi of the Western Wall Shmuel Rabinowitz came to speak briefly to the media as the men worked, climbing up on chairs and sitting low to ground.

Later the bags of collected papers and notes will be buried on Har HaZeisim as geniza.
