Ohr Chadash Academy is pleased and excited to announce that Rabbi Evan Weiner has accepted the position of Assistant Judaic Studies Principal.  His appointment will begin on July 1, 2017.

Rabbi Weiner has received accolades as a highly-valued member of the Judaic Department of the Berman Hebrew Academy in Silver Spring, Maryland for the past four years. He holds a BA in Jewish, Islamic, and Near Eastern Studies from Washington University in St. Louis as well as a Masters of Jewish Education from Yeshiva University’s Azrieli School of Jewish Education. In addition to having studied for several years at Ner Israel Rabbinical College, Rabbi Weiner serves as the Educational Director of NCSY Camp Sports. In his teaching and his work as director, Rabbi Weiner has demonstrated a strong sense of leadership with a track record of inspiring both students and fellow teachers to perform on the highest level.

In speaking of OCA’s new Assistant Judaic Studies Principal, Rabbi Margolese has said, “I am impressed with Rabbi Weiner’s unusual balance of reflection, attention to details, and simcha.”

For his part, Rabbi Weiner expressed his excitement about joining OCA when he spontaneously remarked, “You can feel the warmth and passion just from walking into the building.  I am truly looking forward to helping further this amazing school.”
