Baltimore, MD - May 6, 2024  - GasBuddy's recent survey reveals that gas prices in Baltimore dropped by 6.2 cents per gallon over the last week. However, compared to a month ago, prices in Baltimore are still 5.2 cents higher per gallon and 25.0 cents higher per gallon compared to a year ago.

On a national level, the average price of diesel decreased by 3.4 cents per gallon in the last week. Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, attributes this decline to cooling oil prices and a weaker-than-expected jobs report, which raises concerns about gasoline demand during the upcoming summer driving season.

Despite some refinery maintenance work, oil prices falling below $80 per barrel, and seasonal factors, gasoline prices are expected to continue cooling alongside diesel prices as Memorial Day weekend approaches.
