Baltimore, MD - Jan. 25, 2022 - On Sunday, January 9, Yeshivas Ner Yisroel held their 88th Annual Dinner. With the theme "Building Greatness: One Talmid at a Time," the event paid tribute to Harav Sheftel Neuberger, zt"l, the esteemed Menahel of the yeshivah.

In truth, the event was much more than just a dinner, but a full day yarchei kallah held on the yeshivah campus, which was attended by over 1,000 alumni from around the country. As Rabbi Baruch Neuberger, Menahel of the yeshivah, remarked on the success of the yarchei kallah, “In our wildest dreams, we could not have imagined such a beautiful scene as over a thousand guests spent the day learning in the beis medrash, hearing words of Torah and chizuk from their Rebbeim, and reconnecting with chaverim.”

The dinner itself was a beautiful event, held on the yeshivah's campus, with a elegant buffet, followed by the program held in a huge, heated tent. Mr. Yosef Goldfeder, emcee, opened the program and introduced the Rosh Yeshivah, shlita. who emphasized the importance of maintaining a connection to the yeshivah in which one learned Torah, and continuing to strive for greatness in Torah. This greatness can be achieved through living with mesirus nefesh, going against the grain and not following the crowd. This is the essence of Klal Yisrael.

Following the Rosh Yeshivah's address, a tribute video was shown in memory of Rebbetzin Aviva Weisbord, a"h. The video highlighted her many special qualities, and in particular, her mesirus nefesh for Torah, and the care that she gave to Harav Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman, zt"l and his Rebbetzin, when she moved into his house, together with her family of small children, in order to care of the Rosh Yeshivah in his later years.

A magnificent feature video was shown in memory of Harav Sheftel Neuberger, zt"l, illustrating his multi faceted personality, including his gadlus baTorah, his dedication to the yeshivah's administration, and his hallmark power of neginah, which inspired and uplifted the yeshivah and entire Baltimore community for many years.

Divrei brachah were also delivered by Rabbi Boruch Neuberger, who has taken over for his father as Menahel of the yeshivah, continuing the "chut hameshulash," the legacy initiated by his grandfather, the legendary Harav Naftali Neuberger, zt"l.

The program concluded with a Siyum haShas, led by Rabbi Yosef Neuberger, Menahel of Mechinas Ner Yisroel. The entire Shas was divided among talmidim and friends of the yeshivah, liluy nishmas Harav Sheftel Neuberger. As Rabbi Yosef Neuberger expressed, the large outpouring of support for the Siyum Hashas brought a great nechamah to the family, and a great chizuk to the yeshivah.
