Israel joins narrow list of countries Brussels encourages easing travel restrictions for

The European Union on Thursday added Israel to the narrow list of states whose nationals will be able to travel to EU states as tourists.

In a press release, the EU Council said that, based on updated and newly reviewed recommendations on non-essential travel from outside the bloc, member states will gradually lift their respective restrictions for Israeli visitors.

The decision comes as Brussels looks to tap scrap some of the tight restrictions on travel from third-party countries ahead of the summer season.

Besides Israel, the list only includes seven other states: Australia, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and China (as long as the entry permits are reciprocal). Read more at i24
